Who is Condet Faro?
I am Condet Faro—a hairstylist, fashion stylist, model, and dancer with a deep passion for storytelling through art. My journey began at 11, watching my mother and aunts braid hair daily. Growing up in a salon shaped my foundation, and over time, I turned that skill into a form of creative expression.
Over the years, my craft has led me to incredible opportunities. I’ve styled hair for icons like Yemi Alade, the Nigerian Afropop sensation, and Sherrie Silver, the award-winning choreographer behind Childish Gambino’s This Is America. I also had the honor of working on Laolu Senbanjo’s New York Fashion Week showcase, where hair became a canvas for artistic expression.
Beyond hairstyling, dance has always been a core part of who I am. As a refugee from Guinea, adjusting to American culture was a challenge, but dance kept me connected to my roots. Through movement, I explored choreography from different cultures, blending Afro-dance with modern American styles to create something uniquely my own. Dance has taken me to places I once only dreamed of—performing alongside Sherrie Silver and Childish Gambino on Saturday Night Live (SNL), and featuring in Afro B’s “Drogba Joanna” music video. Today, I share my passion by teaching dance classes, workshops, and private lessons, inspiring others to move with confidence and purpose.
Fashion, much like dance, is another extension of my creativity. It’s not just about what you wear—it’s about how you own it. My love for fashion grew alongside my dance career, and now, as a stylist, I help others find their own unique style, proving that fashion isn’t about brands—it’s about expression, culture, and individuality.
Through hair, fashion, and dance, I continue to tell stories, celebrate culture, and inspire others to embrace their artistry unapologetically. This is just the beginning, and I can’t wait to see where the journey takes me next.
